By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. –   1 Corinthians 3:10, 11.

In Luke 12:48, Jesus tells us “Much will be required from everyone to whom much has been given.  But even more will be demanded from the one to whom much has been entrusted.” Sacramento Rebar has looked and continues to look for ways to give back because much has been entrusted to us.  Sacramento Rebar has several affiliations with local and nation wide non-profits organizations.

Charities:

World Vision www.worldvision.org

In 1998 we teamed up with an organization called World Vision (http://www.worldvision.org/), and sponsored our first two children. Sacramento Rebar’s sponsorship provided for the immediate food and medical needs of the children.

World Vision combines gifts from other sponsors to provide assistance to the sponsored children’s communities.  This assistance includes new schools, clean water, new hospitals, and farm or other job training.  The ultimate goal is to see these families and communities reach a point where they no longer need outside help.  World Vision also brings the Good News of Jesus’ love to every Sponsored Child.  This is usually done through Bible studies, Christian literature, Sunday school classes and spiritual counseling. Our first child Selekow Molise was from Lesotho, South Africa.  We enjoyed watching his growth and progress and then in June of 2004 Selekow graduated from the program. Wambui Mercy, from Nairobi, Kenya was also sponsored in 1998 and in February of 2005 she graduated from the program. After each of our first sponsored children graduated we were able to help two other children: Vanny Khorn (2004) and Srey Muth Oeum (2005).
